It's been super rainy over here in Scotland. It's perfect weather to cuddle up under a cozy blanket with a cup of hot chocolate and a favorite film, don't you think? Here are some of mine:
Charade (1963) - I think that this is the perfect date movie: suspense/thriller meets chick flick. (trailer)
Annie Hall (1977) - I've seen this film so many times, I could probably recite it from heart. Although I wouldn't do that, because that would be annoying. (trailer)
Midnight in Paris (2011) - Hemingway was my favorite character in this film - he has some of the best one-liners! (trailer)
Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009) - I think that it is a lot of the interesting little details that really make this stop-motion film what it is. I love the little costumes too. Plus, George Clooney's voice is so soothing, I could listen to that for hours. (trailer) (image source)
Hors de prix/Priceless (2006) - Gad Elmaleh plays a modern day Prince Charming and Audrey Tautou is absolutely adorable too. (trailer)
Les vacances de Monsieur Hulot/M. Hulot's Holiday (1953)- The first time I saw this film was with one of my best friends during a Sunday matinee. There were people of all ages there, from age seven to seventy. The theater was filled with laughter during the whole thing, it really is a hilarious film, and it was neat to be watching something that is such an obvious classic, easily appreciated and related to across generations. Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961) - No need to introduce this film here - I know you've all already seen it! (trailer)
The Thin Man (1934) - I love the whole Thin Man series. Nothing better than a good murder mystery and this one is quite funny too. (trailer)
Housesitter (1992) - This is my "chicken soup" movie. It was filmed pretty close to where I grew up and it was one of my favorite movies when I was a kid; I think it's such a cute, funny little film. It tends to be something I would watch if I'm exhausted from work or not feeling well - always puts a smile on my face. (trailer)
The Goonies (1985) - Another American cult classic from my childhood. (trailer)
